European startups: registration for the Plugg Start-Ups Rally 2010 are now open

Every year, we go on a quest to find the best European startups for an exciting pitching competition on stage, at the event, in front of the entire audience and a number of professional judges. This year is no different.

As of today, European startups can submit their company and team member profiles, after which the professional jury will decide which 20 of them are deemed worthy enough to compete, based on a set of fixed criteria and their own assessment.

This year, we've partnered with one of our sponsors, Spain-based dotopen, for the registration system. It's fairly simple: all you need to is register for an account here, fill in the necessary details and then add some more information about your startup in a custom form.

Jump to the registration page now!

(click the appropriate link in the box on the right top of the screen to sign up for the Plugg Start-Ups Rally)

Important note: the deadline for registration is 12 February 2010 (Friday next week) so don't hesitate, and notify all European startups you think deserve the opportunity to pitch on-stage at Plugg and the attention that comes with it.

We'll select the 20 best startups - the cream of the crop if you will - the week after and notify all startups of our decision.

To Those it Concerns:

I just created a profile on my company's behalf, but it isn't immediately clear how to join the European Startups contest. (The links keep sending me back to this page!)

Can you help?

Hi,
I am also unable to figure out how it works (I also sent an email about this last week). Basically it looks to me like the application information will be open to the public through Dotopen, is that correct?
Thank you, Christian

Hello Everybody!

Thanks for your comments.

Signing up to the Plugg start-ups rally is done in 2 steps:

1. Create a profile on dotopen. This profile is visible to other dotopen members and to the jury. (of course as a member of dotopen you can also search and follow other members!)

2. Sign up on the dotopen Plugg page. To sign up you will have to provide some more specific information about your startup. This information will not be publicly visible, nor will your participation itself be. Only the Plugg Jury will have access to this information.

Step by step:
a. Register on dotopen and publish your company profile
b. Login to your dotopen account and click on the Plugg Banner (right side of the screen)
c. On the dotopen Plugg page click "SIGN UP TO THE START-UPS RALLY" (in the dotopen toolbox, upper right part of the screen)
d. Fill in the information in the Google Doc that opens and hit "submit".

In case you have any doubt, don't hesitate to contact us at info[at]dotopen.com

all the best!
Steffen

Have you thought about extending the registration deadline? I am sure there are more companies who would like to join and fouund out late about Plugg 2010.
